This year’s Dorshei Emet Speakers Series explores the social realities of Arab Society in Israel. The first lecture takes place on Sunday, November 30, 2:00 PM on Zoom and will focus on the Negev Bedouin, Israel’s most economically disadvantaged community. Alaa Abu Ghalioun will present the work of LANA, a nonprofit improving education, welfare, and social services for Bedouin Arabs since 2011. She will share how LANA supports children, individuals with disabilities, and their families through educational, therapeutic, and vocational programs, and how it expanded its efforts during the recent war to provide emotional support and resilience-building to the broader Arab population across Israel. Alaa will also reflect on her own journey from social worker to director at LANA. https://jlive.app/events/13692
