In the 1960s, when abortion was still a crime in Canada, Montreal physician Henry Morgentaler chose to defy the law in order to provide women with safe medical care. Supported by activists and confronted by the State, he became the symbol of a historic struggle for women’s right to control their own bodies.
With rigor and sensitivity, Michel Viau retraces in this graphic novel the journey of a man who became a central figure in the movement for social justice and fundamental rights.
